It's getting real!

Hello!  The time has come, I have been working up here at the ranch and fulfilling perks for the people who were so generous during the fund raiser, both those who helped with it, and also those who donated. I can't express with mere words how impressed I am with you all, thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have been pretty busy and I have been roundly ignoring the fact that I am going to Mongolia for three weeks to ride 1400 miles across the country and present a motorcycle to a ranger in need of transportation to do his job, but I have to stop ignoring it; there are many things on the list of what I should have gotten done before I leave that will not get done, but of course work will still be there when I get back.

I have a packing list that I use to go to Baja after Christmas, which I think will serve well aside from a little more focus on cold and rain.

The bikes will be waiting for us at the Yamaha dealership in Ulaan Bataar, and there is an itinerary set up with stops for media attention, though I think some of those stops may have 500 people living in them.

I have never done a trip journal before, but my memory is so bad that I need to do one for this ride. I feel a duty to chronicle the trip for everyone who came together and helped with the effort, and I want to have an interesting story to tell when I get back!

I do not now how much access to internet I will have on the road, but I imagine that I will be able to update periodically, but worst case, I just upload at the start and end of the trip in UB.

Yahooo!

And thanks again to all!

Anton
